The Sands of Gallipoli 2011 release Two Limited Edition Medallions Set is a stunning tribute to the extraordinary service and camaraderie of Australian soldiers. This set honours the tradition of looking out for your mates, which began in the Boer War and was exemplified at Gallipoli. The bravery of John Simpson Kirkpatrick, known as the Man with the Donkey, is celebrated in one of the medallions. He risked his life to assist wounded comrades, using a donkey to carry them to safety. The other medallion represents the ongoing commitment to caring for the injured, with modern-day Diggers providing support and medical assistance.
